Logo Design Brief

I am looking for a new logo for one of my music schools, New World Music Academy. It's a 3 location school based East of San Francisco in Pleasanton, Alamo, and Dublin, CA. We teach students of all ages but our primary audience is between the ages of 6-12. We teach many instruments including piano, guitar, bass, drums, voice, violin, cello, flute, etc. I want the logo to be professional and musical, but kid friendly and easy to put on multiple surfaces (i.e. brochures, tote bags, stickers, water bottles, etc.). The uploaded file is what our current logo looks like, and it's just not the best quality.
