Logo Design Brief

We are a local club of German Shepherd Dog lovers based near Florence, Tuscany, Italy.

The "Ghibellini" (Ghibelline in English, Ghibellinen in German) were a faction of the medival counterparts, and you car read the story here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guelphs_and_Ghibellines

The logo should be and recall a "coat of arms" BUT, being a German Sheperd Dog association, the dog element should be present.

IMPORTANT ON HOW TO REPRESENT THE DOG: in the German Shepherd Dog association, the dog itself is NEVER represented in a cartoonish style: example, this will be caroonish, and "funny" way to represent it but completely out of the message we want to transpit:

So, the German Shepherd can of course be "stylized" but maintaining the rigorous representation of it: please check in the folder what I mean:

The idea will be to obtain a Coat of arm to be put on shirts and jackets as if it was a medieval "shield" in fact: a rounded or shild-shaped logo mixing medival symbols and german shepherd symbols.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

You can play with the eagle symbol of the Ghibelline logo or the 3 lions coat of arm logo (you find them in the dropbox folder above) and put a german shepherd head or body shape or any other options.

You are free to invent, just don't use cartoonish, funny german shepeherd dogs, just stick on the classic images as the association aim to breed perfect standard german shepherd and it's not meant to be "fun" but "rigorous representation" of the dog accoring to its standard.

Also this logo for the former "SAS Arezzo" (old name of the SAS Ghibellina) that you see in the folder: it is ours so you can also play with it. The motto you find attached in German means: you cannot breed with dogs without character, you cannot train dogs without correct anatomy: meaning: german shepherd dog must be Skilled AND Bueautiful: a skilled ugly german shepherd is nothing. a beautiful dumb german shepherd is nothing: must be both!
