Design a Wix website for a genealogy/family history research business.
The colour scheme and logo exist and the main imagery has been selected and purchased. The main emotion I'd like the website to convey is "looking up" - like looking up your family tree, looking up a DNA helix, looking up to your parents, grandparents etc. I want the vibe to be one that is enthusiastic about the potential discoveries in your family's history you can make on my website. My service is to the general public, but the main target group are older people 50+ in Australia (I advertise in retirement homes, on golf courses etc.).
I'd like the website to be
- friendly, warm, approachable, trustworthy and open in terms of it's feel
- easy to read, understand and navigate for older people (this is important)
- feature a "language switch" that allows for 3 languages. Ideally pre-selected by geographic origin of visitor.
- Show clear pathways to action (contact or purchase)
- Has a simply shopping cart function that connects to PayPal
The website sections are as follows:
1. A general "Home" page or section
2. About us/me
3. Services (there will be an initial 4 products/services)
3.1 Traditional genealogy (2 products)
3.2 DNA-based ancestry tracing (2 products)
4. Case studies (initially 2)
5. Contact
(The headings are only indicative at this stage)
There is no pre-existing content yet. I'd like to work with lorem ipsum at the beginning. Some more imagery may have to be acquired, I am expecting that.
