Merchandize Design Brief

Prime Roots is an innovative food company that specializes in creating plant-based meat alternatives using a proprietary fermentation process. This unique process allows Prime Roots to produce products that closely replicate the taste, texture, and nutritional profile of conventional animal meats. The mission is to offer delicious, sustainable, and healthier alternatives to meat, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and providing consumers with high-quality protein options.

Project Goal: We’re looking for some fresh, unique designs for our swag items, and we’d love for them to incorporate the color red or anything aligned with our branding.

Target Audience: Millennials and Gen Z, Plant Based and Vegan Consumers, Flexitarians, Health-Conscious Individuals, Foodies and Trend Seekers, Meat Lovers Exploring Alternatives.

Design Requirements:
1. We’re going for something clean and fresh, with elements of red and
checkerboard patterns to capture that deli vibe.
2. We want the designs to feel like a fusion of old-school deli and new-school cool, appealing to Gen Z and Millennials.
3. Basically, we want the swag to be cute and something people would actually want to wear.
Please stick to our color palette and fonts (you can use the Koji font too, but it shouldn’t say
“Koji”).
4. When it comes to iconography, think vintage deli meats modern branding.

Must-haves:
• Red elements
• Checkerboard elements
• Approachable designs
• A blend of old-school deli aesthetics with a modern, trendy vibe

For inspiration, we like brands such as Graza, Malin + Goetz, Ben & Jerry’s, Glossier,
Fishwife, Brightland, Diaspora Co, and Golf Le Fleur.
