Tattoo Design Brief

I have a Japanese character on my low back that is poorly done and like 25 years old. I’d like a really beautiful phoenix that either has its tail wrapped around the other character or encircles it somehow or makes it look better. I’m attaching some ideas that I kind of like, but I really don’t know what I’d like.
