Logo Design Brief

I would like a logo for our local driving club. We all drive exotic cars and do multi day rallies as well as track day events. It is an invitation only club and I would like a logo that is classy, timeless, translates well to shirts and small stickers for our cars. When I say classy and timeless, I think of Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari that have a unique, but instantly recognizable logo. Another one to look at is the British Racing Drivers' Club.
