Logo Design Brief

I am a firefighter in the United States. I have a friend in France who is also a firefighter. I'd like to design a custom Firefighter Helmet Shield and gift it to my French firefighter friend when I visit later this year. I have attached some sample shields for shape ideas. Some ideas I have are to include both the french and US flag on the sheild. Maybe include the colors of france and the US (red, white, and blue). Maybe include some French/US symbols (Gallic Rooster, Fleur-de-lis, Bald Eagle, etc...). The French Fire helmet is very unique vs the American Helmet. Maybe both helmets could be on the shield looking at each other? I have included examples of the french and us Helmet in the files attached. The French motto is "liberté, egalité, fraternité" and the US motto is "E Pluribus Unum" maybe include both of these on the shield. Firefighter is called "pompier" in french so maybe fit in "pompier" somewhere? In the US it is common for a fire chief to have a five bugle criss crossed. Maybe fit this in? All of these ideas don't need to make it all on the shield, just giving ideas.
