Logo Design Brief

Latina-owned business that offers educational virtual services to students with hearing loss all over Texas and soon to be towards the West Coast, covering both listening and spoken language, as well as American Sign Language, English and Spanish. At Listen to Signs (LtS or LTS), we are passionate about providing high-quality educational services to our students, their education team and their families through the use of virtual platforms and technology and we are in need of start up / logo to help us communicate our commitment to our mission of equity in access across different mediums.
We are looking for a logo that is modern, visually appealing, and easily recognizable. We want the logo to reflect our industry and the services we offer. We envision using the logo on our website, social media profile pic, business cards, shirts, and employee badges, so it needs to be versatile, easily readable and printable at different sizes.
Our company name is Listen to Signs and we would like it to be included in the logo. We are open to different design concepts, but we would like the logo to incorporate elements that reflect making connections via technology, (look up: abstract hearing aid, the international symbol for assistive listening or symbol for sign language; attached images below. Other suggestions may include the ASL letters for L, O or S or the ASL sign for “video chat”). We want the logo to convey a sense of inclusivity across communication modes used from Listening and Spoken Language to American Sign Language (English, Spanish & American Sign Language, mentorship, professionalism for school districts, and expertise in the field of Deaf Education and Hearing Science, hearing loss, services as a Certified Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing offering schools solutions, student services and family education. The logo image must convey that one communication mode is not better than another but equal in accessing the instruction for these students with hearing loss in schools.
We encourage you to visit the first iteration (and very not tech savvy) of our website, not for the color schemes but to understand the importance of leaving the traditional Itinerant Deaf & a Hard of Hearing field to innovate and improve the education and lives of children with hearing loss not only at school but at home as well. We at Listen to Signs are promoters of, “it takes a village” and "equity through access" and want to reach these students and smaller communities often left out as hearing loss is a very low incidence diagnosis among school aged children.
We would like the logo to use a color scheme that is modern and visually appealing, kand aim for a darker background in black, gray, eggplant, blue or green with a clear, bold font used for the text to be modern and very easy to read. Colors to avoid are warm tones and gold. Fonts to avoid are scripts or flowing fonts so that the lettering is easy to read as some of our students and parents may be visually impaired and read better with darker backgrounds and lighter font colors.
We envision using the logo prominently on our website, social media, business cards, shirts, posters, pamphlets, and employee badges. On the double sided business card and double sided employee badge, we are going to have the logo prominently displayed, along with our company name, contact information, and our possible taglines of "Reaching More Students with Hearing Loss Virtually", "Listen to Signs: Unleashing Opportunities Through Technology", "Listen to Signs: Ensuring Equity in Education for Students with Hearing Loss", or "LTS: Virtual services for Students with Hearing Loss." We plan for the badge design to be vertical, to include a headshot of the employee, professional and easily readable from a distance, while the business card design should be sleek, clean and modern, displaying the logo.
We are looking to complete this project by end of March and are confident that your design expertise and experience can help us create a logo that accurately represents our business and its services.
