Memorial tattoo
Tattoo Design Brief
Looking to design a tattoo. I thought I could follow the theme Father, Son and Holly Ghost, to honor my Father and my Son. I want the tattoo to utilize the front and back of my shoulder, if needed. Then come down my right arm and stop before the elbow. Looking for mostly a black tattoo. My Dad passed from Pancreatic Cancer, so maybe a subtle purple somewhere. My son passed of a rare disease called Vein Of Galen. When the doctors explained the condition to me, they compared it to two trees being connected at the roots. I always pictured a tree growing south and one growing north, connected at the roots. For some reason I see it as more alive at the top and the bottom trees branches giving way to an image. Maybe it’s death, loss, golden gates, a boy and his grandfather fishing or something.
I don’t really know how I would envision the tattoo, but I want it to be mine. I don’t want a copy or common tattoo. I want to honor my Father my Son while illustrating the struggle one may have with their faith after losing two people so close to me. Faith wins in the end and they are where they need to be. I often wonder if my Dad is up there fishing with my Son.After I lost my son, I cut down trees on the property with an axe. It helped me deal with it. Maybe there is something there. My son had green eyes and was named after me, making him the third.
