Logo Design Brief

We would like a modern-looking family crest design that captures some elements from myself and my wife's heritages. Ideally it should be a vector design, looks good in either black and white or color (tending toward a green primary color), and would include some symbols such as the ones below.

My wife has heritage from the Philippines and we are thinking something like the Philippine sun symbol that is on the flag. Some other symbols ideas are here: https://primer.com.ph/tips-guides/2017/04/15/learn-about-the-philippines-national-symbols/

I have heritage from Scotland, Denmark, Germany, and England. Some ideas for symbols here could be a lion and/or an oak tree (symbols prominent in each of the countries).

We met and married in California, so we are thinking a symbol from this page (https://media.visitcalifornia.com/researchandfacts/statsandsymbols) such as butterfly or poppy. We like the idea of maybe using poppies around or somehow bordering the crest to tie the heritages together.

We are looking for some creative ideas but still keeping it relatively simple and could look good even if scaled down to a small size. We will provide our family name after selecting a winning design.
