Logo Design Brief

LOGO - for single clinician, community-based outpatient private practice that provides speech-language therapy for adults in the later phases of their recovery. I provide speech and language therapy, cognitive-communication therapy and treatment for swallowing disorders called dysphagia. I have no preference for color but b/c it will be used on letterhead, i prefer a white background. I was thinking a limited number of colors - maybe a max number of colors of three to minimize cost in copying, but would consider any creative design... or a black and white version for letterhead. Logo will be used on a very simple single page website that will describe services and for patient's to self schedule appointments. Will also use logo on business cards and letterhead. I prefer a minimalist design aesthetic... i think... Brain injured ppl have difficulty with overload of sensory input.. including visual stimuli. I would not want the logo itself to be visually off-putting and "chaotic" in appearance. One goal following brain injury is to minimize distractions in the environment both visually and auditorily. I feel like this should be consistent in visual imagery of logo. I will also be using logo on fliers that I will leave in doctor's offices to promote referrals and for educational brochures. Will likely use on promotional items as well. I will be providing both individual speech therapy and group therapy/support groups. The FOCUS/intention of this private practice is on the creation of a safe environment for people to gather (either just with me in individual therapy or with others in support or communication groups) where they can interact with others who share similar struggles with communication and cognitive difficulties.

Nice to have

• Maybe for letterhead: Miriam Duvel, MA CCC-SLP. Some sort of imagery that indicates community, support, communication between two or more people, perhaps a circle or circle of people

Should not have

• No monograms, too concrete imagery; no child-like cartoon imagery; no very obvious lips or mouths like you'd see in a dentist, nothing as concrete as two bodies facing each other in conversation
