We need 5 images of ribs to demonstrate
1)normal anatomy of the rib cage, likely an anterior oblique view, which demonstrates the transition of bone to cartilage on each rib, and most importantly the attachment of ribs 7-10 to a common cartilage before attaching to the sternum
2)the patient with slipping rib syndrome (2 images) demonstrating that in these patients, the 10th rib cartilage is disconnected anteriorly from the cartilage of ribs 7-9 (image 2) and that it can slide under the 9th cartilage (image 3)
3)the surgical repair (2 images) - showing the tip of the tenth rib cartilage having been cut and used as a spacer between ribs 9 and 10 and sewn into place (image 4) and then holes drilled in the tenth rib and a nylon tape sewn to stabilize rib 10 to rib 9 (image 5)
Please see sketches to demonstrate the relevant anatomy and surgical repair
