Tattoo Design Brief
I am looking to get a new tattoo on my forearm and wanted to commission some designs. Any tattoo I get has to have some deeper meaning and purpose. From the sample images you can see that I am kinda leaning in two different directions, or maybe even an incorporation of both styles. The tattoo space is between 6 to 7 inches long and starts around 2 to 2 and a half inches wide at the wrist and can get up to 3 inches closer to the inside of the elbow.
Here are some key things that are important to me for the tattoo to convey in its meaning.
New beginnings, Fresh start. Sun, moon, mountains, ocean, trees. Happiness , Peace, calming, Spiritual. Like this idea of from palm to pine, as I live at the beach and palm trees but go to the pine tree forest often to find peace.
Can't just be mountains and ocean, needs to incorporate some type of deeper meaning. Symmetry, clean, sharp edges, are critical to the design. Not forgetting, but leaving the past behind, specifically my failed marriage, and respectfully remembering fathers passing (initials PM). And moving/ looking forward to the future/ ahead, the fresh start. Hide the initials of my children CGM and NM somewhere.
I know some of the images that I grabbed have planets and space theme's in them, but I am not really into space, I just liked the overall style.
This is what I am thinking. I would like to underlay an Unalome in the design. So it starts with the "Chaos" and "Transition to Nirvana" pieces, but do them in your own style. I don't want them plain and bland. Then the "transition" goes into your compass design that in one quadrant has the moon, mountains and pines and then in the opposite has the sun, ocean and palms. Then this flows into one of your animal heads that are half detailed and half geometric. I was thinking either a Bear head or a Eagle head. Then the "Nirvana" line continues slightly and ends with three dots of enlightenment. Horrible drawing and not to scale at all. But here is the rough idea. But I would need your skills and talent to really make it pop and come to life and look really good. The important part is that the start of the Unalome, the chaos and transition, is custom and unique and not just something basic or taken from one of the samples provided. Has to go with the theme, your style and geometric.
