Logo Design Brief
Strix Aero needs an eye-catching logo that when customers and social media fans see it, they remember that Strix Aero is:
- A high-tech company that specializes in airplane piston engine overhaul, testing, design and analysis.
- Strix is the scientific name for the Owl Family, which I chose because it combines their expert flight abilities, keen vision and intelligence.imagery that fits with how Strix Aero should be perceived.
- We are unique in our use of modern high-tech equipment to preserve historical WWII era engines for WWII fighter planes (P-40, P-38, P-63 P-82) and ensure safety and reliability of all airplane engines and parts we design, manufacture, and overhaul.
- The Allison 1710 WWII era engine is the main engine were focused on as we launch the business, but we'll be growing into all types of piston engines needing full and partial overhaul, design improvements.
Notes:
- I like a stencil font like the "redemption" font attached.
- I've tried many sketches of my own to try to incorporate elements of pistons, owl wings, owl eyes, airplane wings, propellers and I can't come up with anything that is subtle and cool. They all turn out cartoonish.
- Attached are a few images that I like for ideas.
Updates
An additional thought to consider with the Strix Aero Logo Design... The testing of our engines with our high-tech test equipment that measures every combustion (explosion) event in each cylinder happening hundreds of times per second is a big part of what we do. I don't know if high-tech sensors and graphs of combustion data are something that can be portrayed in a logo, but maybe?
Maybe the a spark and flame since that's the amazing image happing inside the engine that only our sensors can see? Maybe the logo over the background of an image of the combustion in the cylinder is a good website background?
