Tattoo Design Brief

After my graduation I started to a year abroad to northern Alberta (Canada). In this year I learned a lot about myself. I am enough and don't have to convince anyone about that as long I am sure and happy with myself. My english was never so good like it is now. I have never been shown so much gratitude as in my host family here. Their name was Karseboom.
I envision a tattoo that represents something typically Canadian while also being a symbol of gratitude and freedom and confidence. Maybe you can put a K in the tattoo, which would then stand for my family. The tattoo should not be too big overall and should be intended for the forearm. I would have liked to have drawn it with delicate lines. It should be stylish, but not thick or bold.
