Logo Design Brief
I have an invented a progressive model for american business. it combines the prosperity of business with the economic empowerment of the disadvantaged and the sustainability of the planet. It is considered a shared value model which has proven that if Corporations focus longer-term (versus short term profits as sole strategy) and incorporate societal issues into their strategies, they will make more profits.
To see what shared value is please look at this link. http://www.youtube.com/embed/1vK3cxnP6I4
In my model, I create strategic partnerships with very early stage green technologies that have a business to consumer play (like indoor vertical farming in urban buildings - they can produce organic lettuce at the same cost as traditional farming without pesticides and it grows faster and is more nutritious - no more crop destruction from global warming). These technologies usually never make it to market and they are crucial to save our planet.
We then set up a manufacturing center for the green technology in a disadvantaged neighborhood and hire people that are in poverty. The manufacturing jobs are low skilled so the fact that these people don't have an education doesn't matter. In fact, these very people will own (but not run) the manufacturing center through a tax law that was designed for very wealthy US business owners. We are using this law to empower the poor. It's never been done before. This tax law will allow the company to be tax advantaged, so the cost of manufacturing comes down. The employees work for a living wage, and they share in the profits of the company. So in effect those in poverty through their work ethic can for the first time, have a real shot at the American Dream. Large corporations (like Walmart) grant the manufacturing center a supplier contract in large part because they are looking for solutions to their public image issues. But the Walmarts of the world also know that they make more money when they incorporate green initiatives in their strategy. Walmart has already saved billions of dollars by greening their supply chain and are looking for new shared value models.
Once we get the first vertical farm up and running, we will open regionalized manufacturing in every disadvantaged neighborhood in the country. Making the food source local, and cutting out huge transportation / energy costs of importing and trucking.
Think about the fact that those in poverty will own the largest manufacturing centers of some of the most innovative green technologies in the world. My model also has global applicability but for now I will only be focused on the US.
I will have MANY follow on projects but first would like to capture the logo as that is the first lynchpin. Once I choose my designer/logo, I will hire that person going forward for more work. I am looking for a relationship, not just a one off project. I also want someone who is passionate about social causes.
I want the logo to be progressive. As traditional business is outdated. It is time to move to a new kind of business model. One that is not exploitative but one that empowers all people and does good things for our world!
I want the logo to be inspirational, progressive, and a powerful symbol of change. I want the logo to incorporate an environmental edge, but the main focus is the humanitarian aspect.
The name of my company is Social Market Maker. My tagline is probably too long to put into the logo but it is: Aligning the prosperity of business with the economic empowerment of the disadvantaged and the sustainability of the planet.

Nice to have
- i really like abstract logos as i feel they are more modern. yet i am open to what ever someone feels best represents the social impact of what my model does
Should not have
- I do not want traditional corporate colors or look and feel. I do NOT want to look traditional corporate even though my model is a business model. No foils as colors as those are highly toxic to the environment!
