Logo Design Brief

We need a logo that can also be used as an icon for a web site. Fondat is a software "foundation" for backend services. I want the logo to be thought of from a construction perspective.

Think of building software like building with bricks and a trowel. In fact, while you might choose to think out of the box, what I've imagined is in fact: bricks and a masonry trowel, illustrated in a style and perspective like in building games like Minecraft.

The logo should be able to fit inside of a square without too much whitespace on any edge. Red, grey, black, white are the colours I think would be the best match. No logo text.
