Logo Design Brief

We are rebranding our current company name to "Empower Student Leadership". We work with largely high school and college aged students in personal and ultimately leadership development. This is our 21st year of existence and are hoping to more accurately describe "what" we do through a name and logo change. Currently we are known as "SASI - The Leadership People" but this tells very little of our story and what we are going for. "EMPOWER Student Leadership" personifies exactly what we do. We EMPOWER students to help not only themselves, but the organizations they serve.

The foundational "tenets" of the company is:

"You will never truly understand the full extent of your influence on another person..."

and

"Relationships are the key to the success of any leader." CONNECTIONS are everything in leadership...

Our curriculum continually seeks to explore the value of an individual's impact on others and their organization. One decision, one small gesture, one moment of compassion, one thoughtfully presented teaching opportunity, one moment of truly listening to another human, one smile in the morning, one “have a great day” at the end of rehearsal can and will have a lasting impact...

The goals of the logo are:

1. The logo should graphically represent the foundational principles described above.
2. The logo should be able to stand alone without the text "EMPOWER Student Leadership" Although iterations of the logo will have the text, I am looking for something that can stand on its own.
3. The logo and all iterations should have a current, fresh look while also being "timeless" in nature such that it can stand up for years to come.
4. With #3 in mind, the logo should be something that a high school or college aged student would be excited to wear...
5. The logo should have a clean and sophisticated look.

Requirements

Must have

• represent the "tenets" listed above (in as much as possible) through abstract graphic - should also have an "it" factor that a high school or college student would want to wear it on a variety of merchandise - further being able to use it as a "mini" logo etc (like Lululemon) would be nice.

• references to cap/gown or graduation hats - references to an acronym or abbreviation of the company (ESL for example)
