Logo Design Brief

Help us connect our global community and cure Dent with an awesome logo! Our motto is: "educate. connect. cure" (the motto does not need to be in the logo.). We need a logo to make a visual impact at the medical conferences and patient meetings we attend worldwide. We are committed to curing Dent Disease, a rare genetic X-linked kidney disease that affects males and leads to kidney failure. Our non-profit is made up of family members and patients affected by the disease. It's scary to find out that you or your son has a rare kidney disease. I know. Two of my sons have the disease. But what is EVEN scarier is realizing that, because the disease is so rare, your son's doctor has never even heard of Dent disease! (The disease is named after the doctor who discovered it.) Many people are misdiagnosed and mistreated. We are committed to raising awareness of how to properly diagnose the disease, educate our patient families, and attract researchers who will cure Dent disease. It's scary to find out that you or your son has a rare kidney disease. I know. Two of my own sons have the disease. I have I am fighting for a cure. We are completely volunteers. We need to 'up' our game as a foundation with professional branding. Our logo needs to 'speak' to medical professionals and researchers, but it also needs to feel approachable to our global patient community. Things we're looking for: a kidney motif, clean modern font with no serifs, full name of foundation in logo, include some 'global kidney' visual (maybe a kidney in a globe/sphere with connecting orbits?), simple, geometric, genetic (Dent Disease is passed to sons on the X chromosome), scientific; since we are so rare, no initials unless accompanied by full name, something we can use for merch at conventions and fundraising (a logo that would look great on a hoodie...a lot of teenaged boys have the disease), no cartoony kidney clipart. To repeat...something with a scientific, modern, clean stylized yet recognizable kidney graphic/symbol. (P.S. We are changing our whole website design and identity so PLEASE DO NOT use anything from our existing website. Maybe don't even go there! :) We want to present a clean, edgy, modern, scientific vibe to unite our global community. Thank you!
