Graphic Design Brief
We would like a poster that would depict the Idea of a letter carrier walking carrying a handful of mail.
We would like this to be a winter landscape so there would be snow and ice all around and the letter carrier would be wearing a winter parka, toque and thin gloves. I have attached three images so you have an idea of how the letter carrier would be dressed in winter. The letter carrier in the poster MUST be wearing a yellow high visibility vest as pictured.
The letter carrier would be in mid-step with one leg raised and he is looking down at the mail he is carrying in his hands. He would have a blindfold around his eyes so that he can’t see.
We would like to somehow show the hazards that could happen to this letter carrier because he is not looking forward to see where he is stepping. Possibly the below images would be in circular pop up bubbles? Some of the ideas for the hazards are:
• Slipping on ice that is hidden under a snowy sidewalk
• Slipping on ice covered stairs
• Tripping on an eavestrough that is hidden by snow
• Tripping on extension cord laying across the sidewalk (the extension cord is plugged in to a car)
We would like the sentence “The Walking Blind” included on the poster
Updates
Hello,
I am looking for a design that would look great on a poster sized application.
As my brief suggests, I would like a Canadian Postal worker (man or woman) to be pictured walking with their foot lifted in midstep. They would be holding a handful of mail in their hand and they would be looking down at it. We had thought that it might be good to have the person have a blindfold on. We are trying to show that when they are looking down at their mail while they are walking it is like the are "blind" Our tag line is "The Walking Blind"
We would like to show some of the accidents that might happen to this person because they were not looking around and were not aware of their surroundings. Suggestions were:
falling down the stairs
tripping on an eavestrough
tripping on an extension cord that is across the sidewalk (Canadian winters are cold and we plug our vehicles in)
running into low hanging branches
etc.
We are open to ideas of how this would be shown....we suggested each accident would be pictured in picture bubbles around the edge of the poster but we are open to any and all suggestions.
I understand that it is challenging to find pictures of real people so we are ok with cartoons but we do not want it to be comical. This is part of a big Slips, Trips and Falls campaign and we do take the safety of our employees very seriously.
Thank you so much in advance for considering this brief. I look forward to seeing your design and I am here for any questions

Requirements
Must have
- The letter crarier must have a blind fold on and they must be wearing a yellow high visibility vest in the design. We would like the words "The Walking Blind" to be in the poster. We would like the imagery of what "could" happen if the letter carrier were to be walking with a blindfold on - all the different hazards that they might not be aware of and fall victim to because they are not looking where they are going
Should not have
- We do not want this poster to be comedic. We are looking for a more serious tone
