Logo Design Brief

I need a square logo, minimum 600px x 600 px (although preferably larger for diverse).

I'm starting an astrological publication from home. I live in Brooklyn, and am calling it "Brooklyn Messenger". I am going to upload inspiration images (font & design themes) – this will include a photo of my working desk, and I don't hate the idea of the logo including an artistic rendition of my desk. If you take this route, please include the Brooklyn Bridge bookends to the right of my desk. But I'm open to other ideas, if this one doesn't feel right.

The final design should feel relaxed, classic with a bit of edge, and subtly wrapping in an astrological element. In terms of color, I like earthy, less saturated tones. In terms of fonts, I like distinctive fonts that aren't too avant garde. I want it to look respectable, but with a fresh perspective.

Cannot decide if it should be stylized as "Brooklyn Messenger" or "BKLYN MSSGR" – feel free to play with that.
