Book Cover Design Brief
We need a re-design of the book cover of *Paint the Hills Red* by Ron Schwab. It was originally published in 2015, and we want to issue a 2nd edition with a new cover design (both print and ebook).
Here is the blurb from the original release: Greed. Land. Lawlessness. These ingredients do not portend a peaceful life in Nebraska’s Pine Ridge country for Dan McClure. Dan’s not afraid to fire a gun, but after a lifetime of fighting, he would rather wield a paintbrush. When he’s thrust into the middle of a range war, however, he has but two options . . . and Dan’s not one to run away from a fight. Set in 1880s Nebraska, Paint the Hills Red is a story of men—and women—who won’t back down . . . even when it looks as though they should.
I am open to ideas for the re-design, but please take a look at the author's other books at www.RonSchwabBooks.com to get a feel for the genre and other designs that have been utilized.
I have uploaded the original cover for inspiration, but we're definitely looking for something different. Perhaps there could be some rolling hills that look like they've been painted red, or the title font could look like it is dripping with paint. These are just some examples. There should definitely be some classic Western iconography, though, like a cowboy or a cowboy riding a horse. Most of the story takes place in the countryside, so please do not include an Old West-looking town in the design.
The print book will be 5.25 x 8.00 inches, with a 0.7950 inch spine.
I am open to stock images if they can be tweaked so as to look more natural and they are free (or not too expensive).
Thank you in advance for your great designs!

Requirements
Must have
- Western genre iconography (cowboy or cowoy on horse)
Nice to have
- An element that incorporates "paint" and "red" into the design . . . either in the background or perhaps with the font(s)
Should not have
- No cheesy stock images (naturally incorporated images are fine, of course!)
