Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a 70 year old auto/farm parts store that we recently acquired. This was a family owned business that served the farming community in Abbeville, Louisiana for 70 years. My family has been farmers in the community for over 100 years. My nephew Alex went to this parts store with his father since he was a young child and when the two elderly owners decided to retire they offered the business to Alex, a young farmer. He and I purchased the assets of the store in Aug 2021. Our strategy has been to change nothing and allow this successful business to continue. Alex's relationships within the farming community has had a tremendous impact on an existing profitable business. We have exceeded sales targets every month for these first 5 months including making a $10K net profit in December which the previous owners had warned us they ALWAYS lost money in Dec. Our customers are asking for caps from the "new" Republic. We would like a logo to put on ball caps for customers, to put on work shirts/uniforms for employees, and on polos for special customers. We need something simple and new but traditional to tie to our 70 yr heritage. We do not anticipate doing any advertising print or digital.

The largest volume of our customers are Cajun farmers buying parts for their tractor's and farm equipment. Our biggest customer is a large oil field service company that buys parts from Republic for their fleet of trucks. We take care of the Sherriff Department, the School Board and City Maintenance crew. Our highest volume product is hydraulic hoses for any type of equipment. We are the only provider of these hoses for 30 miles.
We are the local coffee spot for all of these groups. We have retired farmers that come in every day for an hour or more. We often have good Cajun food on the counter. We are an old gathering place and want to say we will be there for the long haul.
We are an independent distributor for Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts but do not have to include their name in our advertising.
The 70 year old store used "Republic Auto Parts". Our LLC is Griffin Supply & Services, LLC d.b.a Republic Auto Parts.
Everyone in town calls the store "Republic"
We are thinking we want a logo with an icon to the left and just the name: Republic. Alex suggested using an eagle as the icon but it doesn't have to be an eagle .
The picture below is an employees shirt. They have been wearing this uniform for 20+years.
The final design should communicate new owners but continued quality products and customer service.
