Logo Design Brief

we need a logo for website use (kckdavidson.org) by our nonprofit. its a food recycle/recovery business that takes excess unprepared food/perishables from local restaurants/clubs/schools, collects them, cooks them off and hands them out as meals for the needy (mostly homeless). also would want to be able to use it on t-shirts maybe... so scalable.

want to play up the recycle recovery theme. we identify, rescue/recover, prepare, and distribute. so maybe some kind of logo that shows that (similar to the traditional recycle arrows. but to be about food; especially veggies). its about taking food that is about to go bad or maybe is "too ugly" for a fancy restaurant, keeping it out of the landfill...but going BEYOND the norm which is just composting it and sending it to a community garden. we love to cook (and I was a chef) so why not feed folks.

probably needs to have the name of the nonprofit at a minimum Kellys' Community Kitchen. and where we are located. Could be shortened to KCK to save space.....maybe not ideal say for a tee shirt as folks wont know what that is. but for the website its could be just fine and that is te #1 thing. so if it saves space, we can do "KCK Davidson NC." And then incorporate that name or initials into a food-cycle logo....something that signifies a cycle. its a cute college town north of Charlotte NC. Davidson College is here where MBA MVP Step Curry played. Color is red. Mascot is wildcats. again....College is not tied in (YET...though we are trying). Just throwing some stuff out there. And please if we do "KCK" vs. spelling the whole thing out, lets try to make sure we make it fun and whimsical and as far from "KKK" as we can possibly get.

added some pics the kids like. not advocating for any of those. but just sharing. google "food rescue" or food recovery" for other ideas. again...we do more than just rescue food from the landfill...we transform and serve that food. thats sorta what is different than a lot of these "rescue" operations...hence "community kitchen"
