"Creation of a logo for the 200th anniversary of the GDNÄ"
Logo "200 years GDNÄ": Briefing for designers (german)
overview
The Society of German Natural Scientists and Doctors (GDNÄ) is celebrating its 200th anniversary in September 2022 with a three-day, prominent festive event in its founding city of Leipzig. The GDNÄ is the oldest and largest interdisciplinary scientific society in the German-speaking area and today gathers around 2500 members from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She was the model for the founding of many other science organizations at home and abroad, including such famous ones as the British Association for the Advancement of Science. Every two years, the science society organizes meetings at changing locations, at which scientists from different disciplines present and discuss their research results. The lectures at a meeting have a common theme: in 2022 it will be “Science in Pictures”. The GDNÄ is involved in science education with programs for schoolchildren, teachers and students. It opens up dialogue with society through public lectures, discussions and press releases. On its website, the GDNÄ informs in German and English about current developments, their history and organization and regularly introduces individual members in interviews.

• Members of the GDNÄ
• Scientists, doctors
• Schoolchildren, students, young scientists
• General public, passers-by on the street (posters)
• Media representatives
Design features; Style, color and image preferences, etc.
We are looking for a "festival logo" for the festive event to mark the 200th birthday of the Society of German Natural Scientists and Doctors. It should be used, for example, on the title page of the program booklet for the 2022 anniversary conference, on the GDNÄ website and the websites of other scientific organizations, as well as on posters inviting Leipzig citizens to the event. The logo should trigger an aha effect, it should arouse curiosity, convey at first glance what it is all about, look modern and at the same time celebrate the great tradition of society.
Contemporary fonts are preferred. The GDNÄ as such has a logo, see website. The GDNÄ brand color is orange; however, the anniversary logo can be designed in other matching colors. The GDNÄ has numerous attractive and up-to-date images from science (astrophysics, biomedicine, chemistry, etc.) that can be used - the website gives an impression.
