Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our two companion animal (dog and cats +/- birds, rabbits, etc) veterinary clinics. Our tagline is "Sharing the care". We are located in regional Australia. We want our logo to encompass not just what we do but where we are/the community we live in. The two towns have their own feel: Yamba is coastal, ocean, sand, etc; Maclean has Scottish heritage (so maybe use of a Scottish breed of dog eg Border Collie, Scottie or a ginger cat). The two towns are connect by a river. We are going to be a cat-friendly accredited practice so the logo needs to make clear that cats are important to us. Use of a heart would help tie in to the old logo (picture included), plus maybe a medical cross symbol may be helpful to convey we are a veterinary practice, rather than any other animal related business.

The colour palette we'd prefer would be a reflection of the characteristics of the area - golden sand, aquamarine water and deep blue of the sky and river, but would be happy also for a brighter additional contrast colour such as purple or maroon for highlights/text etc. The design still needs to be able to work in monochrome so it can be printed in a single colour on uniforms etc.

• Something relating to cats & dogs (images, paw prints, etc)
  Something to identify that it is a veterinary/medical practice
  Something to relate to place/location
  Must be able to be a design that can be used in black and white for example when stitched on uniforms etc

Nice to have

• Scottish type feel, or some identifier for the town Maclean and coastal vibe for Yamba

Should not have

• Non-companion animal species
