Logo Design Brief

We need a logo for our academy that is professional, clean and showcases education. Our academy teaches residential roofers how to get into the commercial roofing market. We put residential roofers through a year-long course, both in-person and online where they learn everything they need to branch into commercial roofing. This includes marketing, sales, installations, etc. We had a logo designed already that combined a graduation cap with a chimney design, but it was too much like a cartoon and did not convey the professional and high-quality aspect of this academy. We want to portray a "higher-education" connotation. Roofers who succeed in the commercial roofing industry can take their company from 1 million a year to 9 million so it has a high return on investment. The founders of the academy are experts in the field and need the branding to reflect that expertise. We would like to see designs that use the colors orange and blue and have a good icon to use in our branding. The industry is a highly competitive industry and our logo needs to capture people's attention immediately. We like the use of color, but also the colors can't be too vibrant to make the logo tacky. It would be good if it was bold and masculine, like our target market. We would like to try and incorporate the abbreviation CRA, but the logo has to say Commercial Roofing Academy in one version of it so it is clear who we are and what we do. Having a few different versions of the logo would be fantastic (though I don't know if that is included in the project), so we can have solid branding, but also show some interest and depth. One logo version could be just the icon and the abbreviation CRA. One could have just the icon. One could be the negative colors of the main logo. But the main logo needs to have Commercial Roofing Industry in it and have an icon that can be used in our branding.
