Logo Design Brief

I need a logo for a new travel film festival. The idea behind the festival is to show the world through the eyes of full-time travelers, expats, and nomads. The logo must be simple enough to scale, and interesting enough to be used on merchandise. This is the first step we've taken after registering our domains. I am open to color suggestions but it should represent travel, the world, and be environmentally friendly in appearance.
