Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo design for our business based in New Caledonia in the South Pacific. We work with underwater drones and robots for both scientific research and industry. The goal of the business is to better understand, document and protect the marine environment.
The technology is used to explore the underwater environment, map the sea floor, take video of marine habitats, measure water quality, and detect pollution. The technology extensively uses underwater acoustics for its purposes.
The design should convey an underwater theme so that it is clear that the business name - Island Robotics - refers to underwater robotics rather than in air or on land.
A previous logo is included for reference, which could also be modernised.
