Tattoo Design Brief

Tattoo design that will start on the outside of the right arm right above the elbow and move up over the shoulder. There are two example pictures attached that I would like to combine. The first shows the illusion of the skin falling away to reveal an "opening" or "canvas" below the skin. The second is of smoke. I would like a tattoo design that has a similar illusion but with the smoke coming "out the opening" and going up the arm. It is important to me that the tattoo doesn't come off as evil or dark. The "smoke" rising out of the tattoo is meant to be a spirit or breath. The reason for the tattoo is to symbolize the idea of "strength coming from weakness". The opening is meant to be weakness and the smoke strength.
