Graphic Design Brief

We need a cute & fun logo for our National Dog Show!

We will be awarding some extra bonus/participation payments at the end of the contest for the designs we like best.

The American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club needs a graphic for their 2021 Dog Show to be held in Virginia, USA. We want a cute and whimsical logo with cavalier spaniels. The State motto is "Virginia is for Lovers" and so we want to play off of the "love" theme.

PLEASE do not use any breed of dog in the design that is not a Cavalier.

I am attaching photos of logos, dogs, etc., for inspiration. We are open to ideas. We did have a couple that we came up with and we will share them below but feel free to be creative. Our ideas were:
1) Cavalier(s) in front of a heart (think Disney mickey & minnie or lady & the tramp).
2) Two cavaliers laying on their tummies facing each other in front of a heart.

In the past we've used the club mascot but this year we want something different. We did find some cavalier characters that we fell in love with, but they are copyrighted by a company and we cannot find out who the artist is. We are attaching the drawings for inspiration as we would maybe love something like them, but please do not use the actual graphics. They are some of the first ones attached to the brief, and show the dogs in all four colors.

The design will need to be provided in .ai/.eps, .png, and .jpg formats. We will also need a line drawing or 2-color version of the logo chosen (white on dark and dark on light versions).

The design will be used for embroidery as well as print work and online, so it should NOT have gradients and the letters need to be clear and easy to embroider. Super-fine elements which are not easy embroiderable should not be included. If possible, colors should be limited to 6. Our 2020 Show website can be accessed if you want to get an idea for what our show is usually like - it is www.ackcsc.org/2020national. We are looking for something cute, sweet, playful or whimsical. I've also attached some photos of "real" dogs.

Landscape, square & round is probably a better choice something tall and skinny because it fits better on caps, shirts and chair backs.

Please remember that this is not a logo for the Club, but a logo to market/advertise the show with. We want people to look at the logo and think - "that looks fun/special - I don't want to miss this event."

Creativity appreciated. Try to have fun with the design.

Design will be used for the website, embroidery on red chair backs, and print media.
