Need a logo for a new nonprofit/social website that shares stories and tips for productive gratitude. What does that mean? Well, here in Seattle (and elsewhere) we have the COVID crisis, but there are other natural disasters. There are all kinds of ways we can productively show gratitude. First way that's happening is buying meals for first responders. But other activities and stories will happen too. There will be a website, bigthanks.org, which documents these stories.
I want a modern, simple icon. The heart symbol or bird-with-leaf (building a nest) or some friendly, nonthreatening animal comes to mind, but there I'm sure are others. This isn't a religious organization (it's non-sectarian) so I'd like to stay away from clear religious symbols.
This will be used on a wordpress powered website, t-shirts, etc. Need to be simple and recognizable.
Updates
Hi all!
PLEASE IGNORE THE WEBSITE COLOR SCHEME of this very early wordpress powered site, but just so you can see more details on what exactly #bigthanks is, please visit (but do not share!) the website here:
http://52.12.65.228/ <-- DO NOT SHARE please
The more I think about it, the more I think we're really working on a hashtag for social media, and the site that backs it.
So please consider using #bigthanks as your text for the logo. Thanks, and I'm sorry for the ongoing evolving nature of this! Rushing to get a site up so we can post the first #bigthanks social media events and occasions, which involve delivering thank-you meals to first responders. (But #bigthanks is about far more, as you'll see if you visit that placeholder site above.)

Again, the color scheme and font/etc. is simply from a Wordpress template. We will adjust the look and feel of the site to conform to the best winning logo and color scheme design, so use the logo/colors that you think works best for this concept.

I should have mentioned, but because this project is related to COVID, use of hands and shaking hands really don't work.
Please take a look at the very early draft website for what this thing is all about. But DO NOT worry about matching the site color scheme, unless you want to. That's easy to change:

What might work though is a "spread the love" kind of visual -- e.g., perhaps an echoing heart (e.g., one atop another or echoing to the right). I'd like some representation of the network effect here and "paying it forward" if you will.
Please also note that #bigthanks is what we want people to know and spread. The hashtag is part of it.

Requirements
Must have
- simple, modern design.
Nice to have
- implied MODESTY, GRATITUDE, HELPFULNESS are all emotions we'd like to convey. This isn't a for-profit enterprise. This is a way to roll-up great ideas to say thank you, and highlighting success stories and tips for others to replicate in their communities.
Should not have
- fancy curly fonts or overly formal -- needs to be high impact, not formal or overly showy.
