Apparel Design Brief

UPDATE** most of the designs entered have been the wrong idea and haven’t followed my design brief very well. I’m not looking for anything that is cartoonish, or something that looks like a child would wear, I’m looking for more serious artwork that you could picture a fashionable hip hop rapper wear for example not a design you would see at ur local Walmart or Target selling for cheap, this clothing brand is of very high designer quality and is an expensive designer brand not a cheap brand.
Would like to see some designs using surrealism or futurism maybe and I want designs to have a some sense of destruction, pain, damage, horror, prison, criminals, vintage, Riots and randomness for some examples.
No skeletons or skulls!

I have included lots of example designs, these are all designs from other clothing brands that I like the idea of and I want to go with a similar design feel to them all, but at the same time being unique and different and don’t want to copy any of them too closely. I may keep adding on more designs as well for more ideas. I’m very open to anything, the design could just be a phrase that sounds scary for example in some good typography layout, or it could be a grunge textured painting artwork, or just pictures distorted and warped together, the possibilities are endless, I just want any kind of artwork that is unique and has the similar design aesthetics to the brands and examples I have listed and included in photos.

Also I may not like your design exactly as it is but I still may buy your design for the idea and then edit it a little bit to suit my needs

I mainly only want black and white illustrations, but I may accept a bit of colour. But having only one or two colour layer’s is best for screen printing processes, (for example just two layers with black on top of white or a solid black screen print to go on a white shirt with a seperate screen for red. The more screens used the harder it makes for printing processes)

If I like more than one design I will be choosing multiple, even if I like 10-20 designs I may buy each one seperate, so if you create some artwork that follows along with my description that is unique, follows the same taste and design feel as the examples, then you may very well get paid for your design even if you are not first place :) I will be buying as many designs as I like, the more designs the better. Thinking outside the box and being creative is what I’m hoping for

I also haven’t thought of a name yet, if you look at the names listed above as example and have any ideas of a name that hasn’t been already used in clothing / fashion labels, that is unique, stands out, could have good aesthetics as a logo, and a name that sounds maybe aggressive or serious or just something that’s really unique, I will pay a seperate $200 AUD if anyone comes up with the perfect idea for a name. So maybe in notes or something when posting ur designs, list some names you can think of and I might just contact you to pay you out separately just for throwing out some ideas for a name if i think one of ur ideas is perfect. The name could be very short or could be a few words, I’m open to any ideas

I need one design for a knit sweater too. I have an example of a long sleeve knit sweater in the photos

Any of the designs could just be a print on a sleeve, or small print next to the neck, or only on the back, or both front and back, any sizing, just come up with anything that looks unique and follows the design description but the actual print itself could be anywhere on a shirt or a hoodie or jacket

Requirements

Must have

• Be unique and not copying other clothing brand’s designs
• Being creative but sticking to making artwork with a similar feel to all of these designs
• I will need the photoshop / illustrator file as I may have to make final edits myself or be playing around with layers for setting up the printing processes
• If the design is best vectorised (for example if it was mainly text or solid shapes) then would rather vector, but if the artwork involved imaging and detail then must be 300ppi-400ppi, I would rather the pixel density to be on the larger side in case I need to enlarge the design for fitting the garment. Please keep in mind when making ur design that the final file size for print needs to be 300ppi so make ur files to the correct size accordingly or larger so that it can be downsized, if the file is too small and I have to enlarge the image and the pixel density is lower than 300ppi I can not use it

Nice to have

• I’m open to any ideas, anything that can be turned into an artwork whether it was just a photo that has some effects / distortion to it, or if the design was fully drawn up, or just the use of typography or both

Should not have

• Not be copying any other brand’s designs
