Logo Design Brief

We need a new logo design for an established engineering consultants company in the Faroe Island. The company works as engineering consultants with focus on energy optimization in buildings, pipe design, fire evacuation plans, project management and environmental approval. These five elements is something we want to be represented in the logo. Not necessarily in the same subjects as we have listed, but maybe five lines or dots or something that you seem fitting. The company was founded by Sofus Martin Jakobsen in 1969 and it is his initials that have formed the name SMJ. Over the years the company has been referred to as Sofus M. Jakobsen Ráðgevandi verkfrøðingar (engineering consultants). Both SMJ and Sofus M. Jakobsen are used today, but in the future we want mainly to us SMJ and only us the full name in the “about us” section on the homepage.

The colour used today is a dark blue or violet see the "SMJ logo" in the uploaded files. We want to continue using that kind of colour maybe a bit bluer, with room to change it a few nuances.

In the Faroese language if a title is more than one word, it is only the first word that starts with a capital letter. e.g. “Ráðgevandi verkfrøðingar”, but if it looks better with only capital letters, we are open for that.

Other files that are uploaded are logo's that we like.

Requirements

Must have

• As a minimum the logo shall contain the text "SMJ" and have the possibility to stand alone. We want a Faroese and English logo with a tagline, where the Faroese text says "SMJ Ráðgevandi verkfrøðingar” and the English “SMJ Engineering Consultants”. The tagline can stand underneath the “SMJ”. Designs as the “GMB logo” with the tagline standing beside the initials is something we also like. Another thing we would like about the tagline is that the two words to stand on top of each other.
  The five elements the company focus on is something we want to be represented in the logo. Not necessarily in those subjects, but maybe five lines or dots or something else that you seem fitting that represents that there are five area the company focus on.
  
  It is important that the Faroese letters “á” capital “Á”, “ø” capital “Ø” and “ð” capital “Д are accurate.
  It is important that the background is singled coloured preferably white.
  
  The uploaded file "smj4" is have a font we like.

Nice to have

• The Logo shall be clean and simple, preferably in one or two colours. It is up to the designers if SMJ shall be supported by a logo or SMJ shall be the logo itself. The tagline can be in at third colour, maybe some kind of grayscale.
  If it is possible some of the working area, could be reflected trough the logo.
