Logo Design Brief

We are looking for a logo for an innovative tyre recycling business called Taurus Mats. To start the business we were awarded funding by Tyre Stewardship Australia (TSA). Tyre Stewardship Australia has been formed to implement the national Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme, part of which promote the development of viable markets for end-of-life tyres.
The five month project will upcycle used tyres to produce a woven mat utilised in the agricultural and civil sectors. The recycled product requires minimal energy to produce compared to other recycled products.
Woven tyre mats are made by weaving together discarded tyre treads and then fastening them together, making them virtually indestructible. They are currently used in cattle handling and loading areas or anywhere livestock encounter slick surfaces. The mats used in the agricultural industry are currently being imported into Australia. An unbelievable fact considering; the massive domestic tyre stockpile issues are growing daily, the energy used to transport these mats, and the potential biosecurity risks in importing soiled tyres.
The process of using this matting has the obvious benefits of stopping surplus waste tyres from entering landfill, however the project will take advantage of the hard-wearing properties which make a tyre so difficult to deal with from an environmental perspective and re-purpose them using minimal energy to produce the finished durable article. The company believes this not only makes sense from an environmental perspective but also creates a viable commercial product that is in demand and currently being manufactured and imported from overseas.
Another application that we are keen to investigate is the use of the mats in the civil sector.
Taurus Mats believe that our products would be competitively priced with our matting customised to suit individual clients requirements. See attached photos for examples of our product.
We are currently looking at building relationships with organisations which are mutually beneficial to both parties, with the added environmental bonus of reducing the carbon footprint and the volume of tyres damaging the environmental landscape.
