Logo Design Brief
Brand Product:
I'm working on a new business selling tulip flowers and am currently looking for a logo. The unique selling point of my brand is that I am selling tulips with the bulb still attached. (A bulb is the seed from where a tulip grows). In 99% of the tulip sales world wide the bulb is thrown away in the harvest process. Our tulips are grown hydroponic, so only water is used (no soil anywhere in our production process).
Materials I use for packaging and decoration consists of glass, wood, metal, concrete, rope. Combined with the organic tulip and its bulb. All materials are eco-friendly.
Brand Name:
The name of the brand is BOLT Amsterdam. In Dutch a bulb is called 'bol'.
The 'T' is a reference to the Tulip.
Those combined is a wink to the English word 'bold'; which stands for:
"An idea showing willingness to take risks, to show confidence and be courageous"
Amsterdam on itself is becoming a strong brand so I want to connect to the global reputation of this city. Our family company is growing tulips since 1936 so I would love this to come back in the logo as well.
Brand Values:
Growing happiness, Living an adventure, connecting people, A little crazy, Loving Nature. Urban Farming.
Please feel the freedom to bring in your joy and excitement during the development of this brand style! I am looking forward to your creative translation of my ideas.
Kind regards,
Jaap Laan

Must have
- Brand Style:
- Although it is a flower brand I want to go against the main stream and create a more masculine brand. It can be a rough and strong, much like the small trendy local brewery brands. I love the 'bygone' logo style combined with a badge or emblem.
- The brand is luxurious, leaning on craftsmanship and over 80 years of experience. It's confident, trendy.
- If my brand would be a location in the world I would describe it as Williamsburg in New York City.
- Brand Colors:
- I am looking for a logo that I can use with its main colors but also one that is useable in grayscale / black & white. I don't want to lock you as a designer to a certain color pallet as long as the colors compliment the brand style.
Nice to have

Should not have
- I like to stay away from the stereotype Holland tourism ideas, so no wooden shoes or windmills.
- Please dont use a light bulb in the design :)
