Poster Design Brief
Royal Life saving Society WA has a project called Talent Pool that aims to engage youth 15yrs+ to train and become qualified lifeguards employed across a network of pools. RLSSWA is wanting a poster that is funky and fun for young people to engage with that promotes the idea of getting a job and saving lives. Up until now our promotional material has been very professional and orientated towards adults etc We want the poster to be eye catching and standout from a notice board. The RLSSWA logo MUST be incorporated and the Talent Pool Logo MUST also be incorporated. The TALENT POOL Logo is of a Shark totem on an Aboriginal shield and crossed spears. The pattern on the shield is a creation story. Please use design and colouring. The shark is a part of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dreaming and relates to the creation of the inland waterways etc The shield and spears relates to fighting for opportunity and employment. The shark also represents that bravery, decisiveness, and swift action needed as a lifeguard. RLSSWA want a fun bright poster to be developed that is eye catching. I have included the RLSSWA style guide that also should be read as part of the design brief. I have also included photos from training and program that could be incorporated. The courses which candidates get qualifications include; Pool Lifeguard, Bronze Medallion, Senior First Aid, Rescue Certificates. Candidates also swim to get fit one or twice week. The age of participants is 15yrs+ and is directly mainly to senior high school students. There will be additional work generated by this project including t-shirt design, hats, pens, etc for the successful winner/s. We are looking for potentially more than one design. This project is set in Western Australia.
