Logo Design Brief

To design the name font and layout, traditionally these English canal boats have been traditional is style, though am looking for a little bit modern, but not too loud, thinking color to be a lighter shade of grey, with a small touch of red, if shadowing is incorporated, it should match the boat, with the main color of the boat a dark grey with a lighter grey border (coachline), the handrails will be red. I do not want it too loud, but would like it to communicate young, carefree and happy. It could either be single or double lined.
The eventual size will be approx .6mtr long x .4 mtr high, or 2 foot long x 1.3 foot high.
Have seen some logos with a line coming off the W and encapsulating the text and ending with a oat sheath, quite nice.
