Thank you all for your submissions so far. At the moment, I think I am split between two different directions: One which is more soft-edged, "cartoony", etc., and another direction that is more emblematic of Higher Education and universities in general. I do still like the map/atlas concept, but I am also interested in concepts similar to these concepts (which are more traditional higher education):
