Logo Design Brief

We need a logo designed for a not-for-profit organisation called KMAD that implements development programmes in north-eastern Mozambique, Africa. We would also like a colour palette to be suggested.

The organisation is called the Kenmare Moma Development Association (KMAD) and it is was established in 2004. KMAD has delivered significant improvements to local infrastructure, with emphasis on the provision of healthcare, education and sustainable livelihood projects. The organisation has created direct and indirect employment opportunities and implemented training initiatives.

Some of the community development initiatives that KMAD has supported in the past include:

- Building a health centre that is now used by 20,000 people each year
- Building the first technical school in the region to provide training and development opportunities for young Mozambicans
- Supporting small local businesses such as repair shops and grocery stores
- Providing scholarships for nursing students
- Installing clean water boreholes in local villages

Photos of some of these initiatives are included with the brief.

The oganisation is supported by a publicly listed mining company called Kenmare Resources, but we feel that KMAD needs its own logo and colour palette so it does not need to reflect Kenmare's logo and palette.

Target Market(s)

The logo will be used on the annual KMAD report, which is read by Mozambican officials, local people in Mozambique and investors of Kenmare Resources. It will also be used on stationery and potentially signage.
