Packaging Design Brief
Our company is Soma Organics, and our idea is to aim at the health and organic market, promoting a new way of snacking with a bite sized ball that contains no sugars, all organic ingredients and is packed with goodness. The actual product consists of an organic health snack made of almonds, brazil nuts, chia seeds, dried goji berries and other natural sweeteners. We are keeping up-to-date with current superfood trends (chia and goji represent our introductory flavor) and we want to stand between the common energy/muesli bar market and the protein filled foods for gym passionates. Our key focal points about the product are: bite size, alternative snacking option, shape, innovative packaging and organic ingredients.
The packaging design we are looking for is for the three balls aligned next to each other, each weighting approximately 15-20 grams, with a package total to the standard 45-60 gram serve of typical snack bar.
The 3 balls will be in a plastic wrapper that is heat-sealed with a box or cardboard sleeve surrounding them.
We also need an innovative display box designed to hold 15-20 packages (As a reference, a 3 pack Ferrero Rocher is similar to the size, but our product is not as firm as there will be no cardboard layer for balls to sit on).
The name of the product is Superbite and our slogan is 'Eat a little different'. There is a lack of white background products in our competition, so we were thinking to have the cardboard sleeve in white with the flavor words ‘goji and chia’ written in red and black. Another idea is a small window to see the interior of the product or using cardboard/eco-friendly looking materials. However, please don't take this literally. We are VERY open for suggestion and encourage new ideas. We'd like the interior of the cardboard sleeve to have some form of detail (no blank interior).
There needs to be a theme with colour because of the new flavours introduced in the near future (for example; second flavor green and purple for apple and fig, mango and maca will be yellow etc).
The look of the product needs to be sophisticated but with a modern twist. We want to communicate organic and eco-friendly along with finding a happy balance between high-end and ‘friendly’. Generally speaking, we like the look of gourmet style food packaging and we are quite inspired by creations on the dieline.com (we'd love to send our product to this website!)
We intend to sell the product in health food stores, gourmet cafes, boutique yoga and pilates studios, gyms, gourmet food markets, and progressing to hampers, hotel rooms, large chain supermarkets and airlines.
Eventually, we will support and be visible at events such as fun runs, gourmet food expos, eco-expos, and we intend to start a resource community for healthy living once the website is produced.

Requirements
Must have
- -Nutritional Panel. We'd like to see some innovation with the NIP. (a cool pie chart; colors other than black and white; ect.)
-space for Organic Certification label (NASAA)
-barcode
-Our company logo. We don't mind if the logo isn't the primary focus on the packaging. It may be produced as a sticker to hold the cardboard sleeve together, but once again we're happy to consider options. We have a variety of different coloured and a few different styled logos available - if you would like to see more, please let us know.
-"Eat a little different" which is our Superbite slogan.
