Logo Design Brief

I need to improve our current logo and cartoon for our brand. We are a coding education company aiming to educate children aged from 6 - 12 years old. We are currently using an education kit called Koov by Sony which I've also attached some of their image for refenerce.

1. We've got a sketch image for the logo already, but the colour seems a bit awkward and amateur. I will attach the image of KOOV education kit promotional material. We'd like to achieve something that colorful and children-orientated.

2. I also got an existing cartoon image which I bought from an NZ designer. But it was used for Infant formula. The image is very cute, but we need to improve the colour as well.
