Poster Design Brief
Hi there! I need a poster design for a new youth musical I'm writing called "A Different Normal".
The story is about a girl called Terri who is the most popular girl in the school. However, after a horrible accident, Terri is confined to a wheelchair. Not only does she have to deal with coming to terms with her life in a wheelchair, but she also has to make new friends after her old group of friends decide that she no longer fits their idea of 'perfect'. It's a powerful, modern story that uses contemporary music, technology but also hits at the heart of the teenage social experience.
Musically, the styles include pop, RnB, and pop/rock.
As for what I need in the poster - I'm not really sure! I'm looking for something that:
- uses the title "A Different Normal" in a unique way
- doesn't necessarily use a wheelchair as an image
- would appeal to a 10-15 year old audience (so not too childish, more teen or tween), yet has a sense of seriousness to it. The musical is dramatic and deals with some confronting issues.
- includes "A New Musical by Drew Lane"
As for colours, etc. surprise me! Sorry I can't be more specific but I haven't even really got a visual on it at all.
If you would like some demo recordings of the music, just let me know!
I've also attached some poster that I really like - more of a reference point of how a musical theatre poster should look.

Requirements
Nice to have
- * perhaps use the concept of "different" and "normal" as two opposite yet somehow similar words.
- * maybe use of circles to symbolise a wheelchair but also having to start again, circular nature of life, rebirth, renewal?
Should not have
- - not any instruments in the design. The poster is for a theatrical musical, not a pop group, or singular song.
