Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design for a pediatric dental practice, Southern Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, in North Carolina. We want something appealing to mothers, but not something that is too floofy. While we treat kids, moms are the ones making the appts, so we want something that appeals to them.

Our practice has a beach/caribbean/maui theme- but not cheesy, cartoony beach. We are still in design phase, so we can alter our decor to fit our logo if needed.

Colors - Green and Blue are in another Letter Logo that we would like to use.

Characteristics of our practice (and maybe our logo) - kid-friendly, growth/development (like a leaf growing into a tree), contemporary, fresh and up-to-date, young energy/youthful, fun, bold, sleek.

Target Market(s)

Mothers, between 20-40, middle class, majority are from military families in a rural community/army base community. Mothers may also be from europe or asia. Others are from rural/small town backgrounds.

Requirements

Must have

• A logo that tells you we are a pediatric dentistry practice- that we see kids, and that we work with teeth. One of our early criticisms was that if you just saw Southern Smiles, you would not know if was a dental practice for kids.

Nice to have

• Our theme is a beach/caribbean/maui, possibly ocean- I've no idea how to incorporate that, but it would be nice to have that consistency from logo to actual clinic decor.

Should not have

• trying to stay away from really cartoony characters, or anything too childish. The marketing is really towards the parents, but something that indicates kid-friendly.
• Obviously, "Southern" has a specific connotation when it comes to teeth- we want to stay away from anything stereotypical about missing teeth (or rather, "teef").
