Web Design Brief
I am a novelist with an older-generation website at: eldonthompson.com.
I am hoping to refresh this outdated website with a new, responsive redesign. I would prefer to host the code myself, and edit using Adobe Dreamweaver. So I’m not looking to use a hosted site builder like Wix. Nor am I looking to use a CMS like Wordpress.
In order to simplify the old site, there are a number of sections I’ll be looking to remove during this redesign. These are shown in the "ET Site Redesign" attachment. I can also provide imagery for new content (another book series in addition to the existing one), as well as higher-resolution imagery (if needed) of the old content.

- I'm looking for a responsive design that displays nicely on both mobile and desktop devices. Existing site contains multiple pages, but these can obviously be combined into fewer pages (or even one) by divisions such as tabs, sections, and/or modal windows. See eldonthompson.com for current content and "ET Site Redesign" attachment for content to be removed at this time.
Nice to have
- The ability to fulfill orders of autographed books directly from the website. I currently use Paypal to do this, but it would be nice to incorporate a more comprehensive merchant service at a reasonable rate.
Should not have
- I'd like to host and control the site code myself. So please don't use a hosted web builder like Wix, or a cloud-based CMS like Wordpress.
