Packaging Design Brief

We are launching a new product called the Library of World History. This is a collection of the 100 greatest history books, narratives and speeches of all time preloaded on an MP3 player. Titles include: War and Peace, History of the United States, The Ninety-Five Theses, A Tale of Two Cities, Lincoln’s Last Hours and 95 more. The collection also includes a car adapter for listening while driving. The target market for this product is mostly older folks who are not tech savvy. The MP3 player is very simple to use--it doesn't require any downloading or use of the computer. It will also be used by quite a few people who travel frequently or commute to work every day.

I have attached a file with the box design we use for our current product, the Library of Classics. The box for this new product should have a different look and feel, but should still project a professional image of a quality product. The dimensions of the new box will be identical to the old one. I have also attached a file with the content for the front and back of the box. You can reduce the amount of text on the back if necessary by listing fewer book titles. Please also create a logo to be used on the front of the box.

Target Market(s)

The target market is older folks (baby boomers and older) who are not tech savvy. We also sell to a lot of travelers and commuters as well as gift givers.

• The new design must be the same dimensions as our current box (file attached) and must include all of the text and content that is in the attached file, including the attached bar code and the new logo you create. It is okay to list fewer books on the back of the box. The file lists 15 of them, but you can include s few as 5.
