Postcard Design Brief

Royal Family KIDS Camp (RFK) and Teen Reach Adventure Camp (TRAC) are ministries of Ventura Missionary Church that serve Ventura County children of abuse, abandonment and neglect living in foster care. We are looking for a postcard design to promote our single largest fundraising event of the year, FosteringHOPE2018, to raise awareness and support for children of abuse. FosteringHOPE is a dinner banquet on at an exclusive outdoor venue, "Ancient Creek" with a rustic, ranch feel and with spectacular panoramic views of the City of Camarillo. The event will include music, refreshments, appetizers, a Santa Maria-style barbeque (BBQ), coffee and dessert, testimonials from camp, prize drawings, an opportunity to partner with RFK and TRAC, and time to socialize before and after.

Target Market(s)

People from both within and from outside our sponsoring church who have a heart for hurting children and who are willing and able to financially support our camping (RFK & TRAC) ministries.

Must have

• Name: FosteringHOPE2018... raising awareness and support for children of abuse
• Date: Thursday, May 24, 2018, 6:30-8:00 pm
• Place: Ancient Creek at Petersen Ranch, 3400 Somis Road, Somis, California.
• Cost: $30 per person
• Tickets: Available at Eventbrite.com
• Front side should include the elements of the event (although not necessarily bulleted like below):

• RFK and TRAC logos should be included on the postcard. I’ve uploaded a variety of photos for the designer to choose from; they do not necessarily all have to be included. There are also lots more pics available on our Facebook (Royal Family KIDS of Ventura).
• The front-side of the postcard can be entirely images and text. The back-side of the post card should include our return address at the top left ("RFK/TRAC of Ventura Missionary Church, 500 High Point Drive, Ventura, CA 93003") and should leave at least the right half of the postcard clear for addressing and postage.
• RFK colors are purple (Pantone 267) and red (Pantone 186). TRAC colors are green and yellow.

Nice to have

• A selection of camp photos large enough to easily view, but no so many that they are too small to identify. And, perhaps, a design element that evokes a rustic, outdoors, western, ranch feel, but not so much that it seems that we are promoting a country hoedown.

Should not have

• Anything sexual or sensual, related to alcoholic beverages, gambling, guns, or anything negative.
