Logo Design Brief

We are Powder & Shot - a custom powder coating company located in Southeastern, North Carolina.

What We Do: We provide high-quality powder coating finishes for residential, commercial, automotive and marine parts. From the patio furniture at your house, to the frame for your ATV, to the T-Top on your Center Console boat - we powder coat any type of metal.

How We Do It: We take your metal part and “sand”blast it clean down to bare metal, then we spray the part with a colored powder from a compressed-air spray gun. The part then gets placed in an oven, where the heat turns the powder into a liquid, and cures the liquid to a very hard substance that virtually lasts forever. Think of a paint job that is so hard it resists scratching, chipping,or fading.

We Think We Are:
:: very creative, not formal and definitely not corporate.
:: somewhat industrial - we have big ovens, racks, spray booths and other large equipment in a wharehouse-type shop.
:: somewhat manufacturing - we improve your part by adding a finish coating to make it last
:: somewhat restoration - we strip old things down and make them new again, like parts to an antique automobile.

Our Name:
“Powder” refers to powder coating - think a cloud of colorful powder, a unique silhouette of a person spraying powder, a silhouette of a person wearing a respirator.

“Shot” refers to media blasting, or “sand”blasting - think a small mound of sand, a silhouette of a person sandblasting, clean / etched metal, etc.

Our name is separated by and ampersand (&) symbol, but we are not opposed to changing that in the logo to a plus (+) symbol or some other unique form of separating “Powder” and “Shot”.
