Logo Design Brief

We need a logo design & typeography suggestions for an author, Kara Richardson Whitely's website. Her first published book, Gorge, about her third Mount Kilimanjaro trek as a plus-size adventurer, will be out in Spring 2015.

The author's name should be typeset in a way that will look great on the website and on LinkedIn:
Kara Richardson Whitely

As well as suggestions for the typeography on the website itself. (looking for suggestions about the headlines, body copy and captions on the site.

The imagery and color palate on the website will be based on bold, inspiring nature photos. (You'll see one possibility on the last few pages of the attached document.

  • I've attached some ideas of the website. I'm thinking white text over a bright sunrise. Please also include a black text option.
  • The name logo must look great on the website all the way down to LinkedIn.
  • The website typography suggestions must match the name logo.
  • Are there any other considerations or mandatories?
  • - The typography will be on a very basic website, which will also include map with tour dates, info about my documentary (https://vimeo.com/36669578), and bio info, etc. .
  • - Website will have social media component to follow Pinterest, Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter (and others outlets)
  • - Materials consistent with earthy, adventurous spirit of book. Nothing too flashy. But can be cool, unexpected and inspiring.
  • Anything else we should know?
  • - Need website to be online by February 2014 to start attracting tour sponsors
  • - Gorge expected release early 2015
  • - Planning a tour across the country spring 2015 with mix of stops at REI for publicity, hospitals and health fairs for income, and others.
