All but a couple however seem not to have read the brief.

The Match Society is related to a golfing group called the Lucifers and the word 'Match' is a play on words. Ie a (fire starting) match of which there was a brand once called Lucifers. Hence the devil, a match and golf are key to the logo NOT the words. Indeed as the brief says a figurative logo along the lines of the Ralph Lauren Polo is a guide. To repeat also the logo is for embroidering on a golf shirt, etc NOT primarily for a letterhead.

Please reread the brief and review your thinking accordingly.
